I don't think Fluke sells a meter that doesn't autorange either and I really don't recommend you get one. Get an autoranging meter. You just pick the function DC volts and use the leads. Much simpler to use. An option I would consider is a clamp-on current meter, something like a Fluke You can measure things like starter motor current draw or alternator output current or electric fan draw with it. I've borrowed the amp meter from work a number of times to check out an alternator or a starter.

Any time you have a current meter where you have to disconnect the wire and put the meter into the circuit it's limited to about 10A of current measurement. This is how the Snap-On and Fluke meters measure current. This really limits the current measurements that can be done.

Also look for a meter that is UL listed and use UL listed leads with it. They set the standard for meters. I went to the Fluke website and wouldn't you know it, a local Snap On distributor carries the Fluke line so I will check them out.
